Norreys Health & Wellbeing Forum
What's it all about?
To support the Norreys community development worker to build on informal community networks and start a Health & Wellbeing Forum. Potentially the Forum will support the LINk in engaging with the Norreys community.
Project aims
The LINK is keen to support the development of services that are tailored towards the specific needs of the Norrey’s residents and to identify factors that could improve resident’s adopting healthy lifestyles.
Methodology
Initial Community engagement:
- LINk to attend Norrey’s community meetings throughout June 2010 – introduction to key residents.
- Summer street party take place on 24th July 2010 in order to encourage community to interact and start thinking about health. Party to have a “health” focus with cooking demonstrations, healthy eating recipe cards, fruit smoothes
Data Collection
- Throughout the month of October there will be a short survey of all residents in the Norrey’s estate about their health regime and difficulties in sustaining good practise.
- Survey’s will be delivered to all residents by hand and a freepost envelope for return.
Intended project outcomes
- To raise awareness of the LINk amongst Norrey’s residents and empower people to raise issues and experience’s of health services locally.
- For the LINk to collect issues from residents about difficulty in sustaining healthy behavious
- For the LINk to be able to make recommendations to the Local Strategic Partnership about possible services that would benefit increased health outcomes in Norrey’s area.
