The Baywide Patient Participation Group will now be known as "BIG".

The group has regular meetings - the focus is to influence and inform strategic clinical commissioning about service need .

Baywide CCG and South Devon CCG are proposing to the wider cluster that they become one authorised group - separate from the rest of the cluster - this is subject to forthcoming decisions.

Lesley Ann Roddick-Harris has been elected as interim Chair and Roger Philp as Vice Chair. Judy Punchon is the LINk representative.

Torbay LINk Steering Group nominated Pat Harris to replace Anita Forrest as the LINk Representative on the GPCC Board.

Make your voice heard and be part of the future of the NHS – join your local patient involvement Group.

New plans for the NHS will give your GP more control over services such as hospitals, out of hours care and mental health.  The Baywide GP Commissioning Consortium brings together local doctors to make important decisions about these services and you can help by joining Torbay’s Patient Participation Group.

The Group, supported by the Local Involvement Network (LINk), will represent patients from every one of Torbay’s GP practices, sharing ideas, opinions and experiences and playing a key role in developing NHS services which meet the needs of local people.

“This is an opportunity to get involved in shaping healthcare services during one of the most exciting and significant periods in the history of the NHS.  The move of healthcare commissioning responsibilities from trusts like Torbay Care Trust into the hands of GP consortia represents a fundamental change in the way in which the NHS is run.  In Torbay we are absolutely determined to make our patients part of that process,” Dr Sam Barrell, Chair of Baywide GP Commissioning Consortium (GPCC) and Clinical Director of Transition and Commissioning for Torbay Care Trust.
