Baywide is the GP Commissioning Consortium for Torbay in Devon

Baywide is the GP Commissioning Consortium for Torbay in Devon and was incorporated in February 2010. All 21 practices in Torbay are members of the consortium.

The consortium has a board of 10 directors – eight GPs, one Practice Manager and one Nurse practitioner. The Chair of the Board is Dr Samantha Barrell. There are also several co-opted members to the Board including the Director of Public Health, a community nurse, a patient representative, a community pharmacist and the Director of Operations from the local PCT.

The Board meets every six weeks to oversee and progress the work of the consortium. There are three sub-committees of the board – performance & finance, business development and corporate governance.

Baywide GPCC is engaged with the local LinK (Local involvement network) group and has set up a patient participation group.
