Here's your April Poole LINk update !

Has your medication been changed recently?

This month the LINk has heard from several people who’ve had their blood pressure medication changed and the new tablets have made them feel dizzy and ill. We’d like to find out if this is a wider issue, so please contact us if this has recently affected you.

LINk ‘Leaving Hospital’ Project

We’re designing a ‘leaving hospital’ survey that we plan to distribute to everyone who leaves a Poole Hospital older peoples ward, in June/July 2011. The LINk is working with Poole hospital, local care homes, domicillary care providers and local groups to make this project a success. If you’d like to be involved, or find out more, contact Louise.

LINk Visiting Team

We are working with Poole Forum (local learning disability support group) to form a joint visiting team. Trained volunteers from the LINk and Poole Forum will work together, to check out local services and find out what people really think of them. We’d like to run a pilot visit in June / July so if you run a supported living service or a Poole day opportunity and you’d like our team to visit you, contact Louise for more details.

Older Peoples Event on 16th June

This event will share information and advice about services for older people in Poole. There will also be a chance to find out more about the newly launched website SOURCE, jointly delivered by Dorset, Bournemouth & Poole councils to provide advice, information and a support directory for adults across Dorset. Come down to Poole Civic Centre from 3pm to 6pm to find out more and say hello to Louise, who’ll be running a LINk promotion stand at this event. More info here.
