St Mary's Hospital, Newport, Isle of Wight
On 20th October 2011 the CQC carried out a check of the wards and units at St Mary's Hospital.
St Mary's Hospital in Newport is the District General Hospital on the Isle of Wight; it has 477 beds. The hospital is operated and managed by Isle of Wight NHS Primary Care Trust. The Island is considered far enough in travelling time from mainland hospitals to require acute emergency care, maternity, neonatal intensive care and other key services to be provided locally. The hospital provides care to medical and surgical patients and provides a number of specialist services.
St Mary's Hospital met four of the five standards.

Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth
On 7th June 2011 the CQC carried out a check of the wards and units at the Queen Alexandra Hospital.
Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest acute hospital trusts in the country providing a full range of emergency and other care services to more than half a million people across Portsmouth and surrounding areas but also across the whole of South East Hampshire. The Queen Alexandra Hospital site was completed in 2009. The hospital can accommodate 1400 patients.
The Queen Alexandra Hospital met met three of the five standards.

Southampton General Hospital
On 12th April 2011 the CQC carried out a check of the wards and units at Southampton General.
Southampton General Hospital has a number of specialist services including neurosciences, cardiac services, oncology and pathology. Emergency and critical care is provided in the hospital's special intensive care units for adults and children, operating theatres, acute medicine unit and emergency department, as well as the dedicated eye casualty. Southampton General also hosts outpatient clinics, diagnostic and treatment work, surgery, research, education and training, as well as providing day beds and longer stay wards for hundreds of patients.
Southampton General does not provide maternity services, which are provided at one of the trust's other locations, the neighbouring Princess Anne Hospital.
Southampton General met all five standards.
