Meet Maureen Wright

Maureen

Maureen Wright has been a member of the Isle of Wight LINk's Stewardship Group since Summer 2011. We like to get to know all of our active members, so we asked Maureen if she'd be kind enough to give us an interview...

What's your background?

"I've always been involved in health-related causes as this is a subject that has been close to my heart for many years. Having family members with major health concerns has also enhanced my interest in this area. As well as the LINk, I am an active member of Arthritis Care Isle of Wight and we provide information sessions in local libraries."

What would you say are the Stewardship Group's priorities for 2012?

"We will be generating lots of publicity to grow the LINk membership. This way we can ask as many people as possible for their feedback on health and social care matters on the Isle of Wight."

What's the best thing about being a member of the Stewardship Group?

"I've really enjoyed finding out more about local health and social care topics. It's very interesting to discover what's going on at the moment and what will be coming up in the future."

Do you have any amusing anecdotes that you'd like to share?

"We don't just 'talk shop' at meetings, it's fun to meet new people and have a giggle."

Do you have any hobbies?

"I love cooking, spending time with my grandchildren, reading, gardening and going to the theatre."
