Have your say on how the health regulators are reviewed

Consutation from the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence

January 2010

The LINks are pleased to inform you about a new health-related consultation. The consultation from the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence (CHRE) is asking people to share their views on how they annually review health professional regulators.

What do the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence do?

'The Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence promotes the health and well-being of patients and the public in the regulation of health professionals. We scrutinise and oversee the work of the nine regulatory bodies that set standards for training and conduct of health professionals.'

What is the new consultation about?

The CHRE's annual performance review of health professional regulators is being re-evaluated and they would like feedback from lots of people and organisations, including the general public.

'We want to know whether you think our Standards of Good Regulation are focused on the right issues and outcomes and whether our process will allow us to robustly review the performance of the regulators.'
